[ they were partners. are. solo doesn't just steal watches for anybody but himself, really. but he certainly won't admit as much on an open channel.

[ are, apparently, in some way. even if u.n.c.l.e. doesn't exist here, illya feels as though he's part of it. for now, it'd be smarter for them to stick together. ]

[ solo would rather have a partner than an enemy, even in the absence of uncle. if those are not the only options, he would still prefer a partner — he would prefer illya as a partner. it's a departure from the norm; he really does work better alone, has for years, but illya is skilled and he's someone solo hasn't figured out yet. someone he doesn't quite know how to play, and that makes him dangerous and fascinating all at once. ]

You have yet to prove otherwise.

[ as much as illya would hate to admit it, solo is right. they are partners, here, even still. the thought that they aren't hasn't even crossed illya's mind, and even if it had, he doesn't think he'd consider it.

they are both stuck here together, and while illya would rather deal with solo when they aren't being held captive in some kind of massive vessel, there is a level of comfort knowing that at least he's not alone. ]

Give it some time. [ are they still talking about illya trusting solo? perhaps, but solo means more than that. they'll have to figure out this place and how to leave, but solo's already getting the feeling it won't be an easy or quick task.

We seem to be on a ship in space. I've yet to find an exit that won't result in immediate death and suffocation.

[ it seems like they're stuck. solo is feeling that same itch, but he won't admit to it, even to himself. of course he'll settle in for the long haul aboard this spaceship. naturally. not an issue at all. ]
